Margaret Randall teaches in the American Studies Department at the University of New Mexico and has written more than 40 books of poetry and prose. She has lived in Mexico, Cuba, and Nicaragua, working as a midwife, translator, and editor. She is currently appealing a deportation ruling. Her residency was denied under the McCarran-Walters Act because of the content of her writings.
