William Lutz is the editor of the Quarterly Review of Doublespeak and has published extensively on the use of language as a tool of power. Among his articles are "Language as a Means of Social control in 1984," "The Rhetoric of Ideological Hegemony," and "Doublespeak: Reading the Media." Dr. Lutz chairs the Department of English at Rutgers University and has researched intensively the teaching of English composition and the design of English curricula.
